Quilled Flowers Cascade in Blue

I have never used blue so I made these quilled 3d flowers from dark blue, light blue and white strips. Just made up the design as I went along.
The flowers are made in two layers. The bottom layer is dark blue 1/2  A4 strips teardrops. The top layer is 1" white strip pasted to 1.5" light blue and made into teardrops. The centre is a light blue loose coil with 2 white 1mm 1/4 " scrolls stuch vertically to maj=ke the stamen.

The leaves are made using husking.

Quilled Flowers- A Symphony of Daisies

Well I've been quilling my thumbs off trying to quill landscape pictures, so I thought I'd take a break and quill some simple 3d flowers and this is the result.

For the daisies I made the yellows fringe with 1.5 cm 2"strips and pasted .75" brown strip of same width and the fringe is slightly broader. This was pasted to 2cm white strip which I cut with a scallop pinking scissor and fringed even broader.

The stems are made of brown strips which are cut narrow and gradually broadening towards the end. This was wrapped around a cocktail stick and the edge which overlaps was gummed slightly to prevent the stem from unwinding.

The ribbons are multi-strips grpahic quilling.

Quilled Picture Portrait Jesus Christ Bearing Cross - To Calvary

I quilled a portrait, landscape or picture style of Jesus carrying the cross different from the previous one. For this project I used my own quilled filler and for the lines that needed to be well defined I used strips. This image was quilled like a mat and pasted on a black background.

I just folded 3mm strips Zig zag between thumb and forefinger and encircled and pasted to make the filler. I am really thrilled with the results. I used forceps to paste it and am now gaining on the battle with the paste!!

Hope you like this one as much as I do... it took me ages to complete.

Quilled Jesus Christ Portait Landscape Picture- Crown of Thorn

Its lent and I was inspired to create a quilled portrait, landscape or quilled picture style, symbolizing the crucified Christ. I found a vector photo in black and white and used it to quill this. It was a labour of love... it took me many hour but its completed at last and I'm thrilled with the results. The eye was the most difficult as it gives the character to the image and I didn't want Christ to look ferocious or angry by getting it wrong. In the end I managed to get it just like the original image I used. I hope you like it as much as I do.

The image of Christ and the cross is composed of strips pasted to the base. I found that pasting the strips for the outline and filling it with the relevant color strips was the easiest way to do it. I initially got myself tied up in knots trying to paste the filler strips without the outline, but I soon realised that I had gotten hold of the wrong side of the stick. Anyways, the background circle is made of loose marquee pasted densely.

I have tried to make the curve of the strips to follow the natural shape of the body and the unevenness is by design tor try to make it as natural as possible.

Graphic Quilling- Vector Art

I saw a vector diagram and thought I must practice my graphic quilling technique which is far from good. I Made the butterflies from scrolls while the buds are husked. For the leaves I used multi colored husking. The twirls are not perfect but I'm getting there!!
